This project is in line with the vision and mission of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and with all the laws and regulations emanating in particular, including the regulation of procedures and means of energy conservation and improve efficiency No. (73) for 2012 which was issued for the following reasons:
Achieve the strategic objective of reducing energy consumption to reach 20% by 2020 in relative to levels of consumption in 2007.
Due to the necessary and the urgent need to meet the challenges facing the energy sector in the Kingdom.
Petra project phase one Implementation steps:
Conducting Energy audit studies for ten hotels in Petra.
Publishing expression of Interest for companies interested in implementing the outputs of energy audits.
Studying and evaluating The submitted Expression of interest applications four companies were pre-qualified
contracting with NERC to Prepare tender documents for implementing the outputs of energy audit studies
sending request for technical and financial proposals from the pre-qualified companies to implement the outputs of energy audit including all electrical and mechanical systems according to the tender documents.
Evaluating the submitted technical and financial offers from the pre-qualified companies.
Signing Agreements with awarded companies and eight hotels.
Supervising the implementation of the project by conducting weekly visits to the hotels and preparing weekly reports by a technical team from JREEEF and NERC
Final receipt of the project and Guarantee commission of all installed and replaced systems.
closing ceremony of the Petra Project on 19-oct-2017 under the patronage of his Excellency Minister of Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Dr.Saleh al-Kharabsheh with his excellency Mr. Luc Le Cabellec Director of Representative Office (AFD) , where Jordan TV, Hotel owners, NERC, Local community representative, Petra Hotels Association and JREEEF team were present.
